The typology of emissions has not changed significantly during the time. Most of them are due to employees/members business trips (mainly by plane and train), to employees/members commuting and, to a lesser extent , to natural gas, electricity and paper consumption. Since 2010 the increase of emission is mainly due to the intensification of business trips, reinforced also by the increase in the number of employees that has almost quadrupled since 2010.
In order to reach carbon neutrality, each year t33 firstly adopts specific practices for an internal reduction of its emissions with the aim of limiting the overall emissions produced. Since t33, considering its peculiarities has not any possibility to eliminate its emissions completely through internal green practices, it needs to rely on offsets mechanism too.
For this reason, also in 2017, t33 requested to the company “Polo Tecnologico per l’Energia Srl” 63 VER (Volontary Emissions Reductions) Credits with “IMQ_ECO” certification, generated by the biomass remote-heating plant located at the “Edmund Mach” Foundation in Trento Province (IT). As a result of this transaction, all the emissions that t33 could not avoid through internal practices have been fully compensated by the VER credits acquisition making t33, also in 2017, a Carbon Neutral company.
