Study: ‘The potential of the financial instruments in the field of AMIF (Asylum, Migration and Integration Fund) and other funds in the area of migrant’s integration’

The overall objective of the study was to provide a solid and evidence-based foundation for the future activities of both the European Commission (EC) and individual EU Member States regarding the development of financial instruments to support migration through the Asylum, Migration and Integration Fund (AMIF) and the other shared management funds (SMF), such as the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF) and the European Social Fund Plus (ESF+), as well as other financing sources.
The study covered aspects related to:

  • Market trends in the area of integration of refugees and migrants;
  • Supply and demand side of finance for projects and activities contributing to the integration of refugees and migrants;
  • Financial gap in the area of refugees and migrants support;
  • Implementation options for financial instruments under AMIF and other SMFs to support projects contributing to the fulfilment of the EU Migration and Home Affairs policy objectives;
  • Relevant case studies and lessons learnt in the area of integration of refugees and migrants.
