t33 has coordinated, in cooperation with Spatial Foresight and ÖIR, a study on the EU policy framework on SMEs.
The study looks into the rationale and added value of EU policy framework for SMEs, such as Small Business Act and subsequent policy actions, analysing to what extent they contributed to strengthening entrepreneurship in EU regions and cities. The study also provides an analysis of what is new for SMEs in the new generation of the EU programmes post 2020 and how the proposed changes in favour (or not) of SMEs as one of the largest groups of final beneficiaries of the EU funding. Finally, the study provides recommendations to strengthen SME policy in the next EU political cycle starting in 2020.
