Study: 'Fostering innovation at regional level: lessons from European Entrepreneurial Region (EER) experience'

Committee of the Regions

  • Start Date: December 2014

  • Status: Complete

The present study has the objective of analysing selected measures aimed at increasing the innovation capacity of SMEs and entrepreneurs implemented by EER regions. Since EER regions are viewed as examples of best practices in the application of the SBA, understanding their support to foster innovation through the adoption and implementation of the SBA principles (in particular, Principle VIII) provides a series of strategic policy instruments for other European regions which intend to enhance the innovation capacity of their entrepreneurial environment.

The report of the study is available here.
