MARTE project created innovative financing models and strategies to support energy efficiency investments combining technical assistance funded by the Intelligent Energy Europe programme - section Mobilising Local Energy Investments - with structural funds (ERDF).
Regione Marche, as lead partner, intended to mobilise EUR 15.5 million investments financing for sustainable energy projects in five healthcare facilities and promote energy performance contracting. The project created new business models for energy efficiency public interventions. The project also discussed their replicability in other sectors, especially local transport, social housing and waste management, with local public and private stakeholders.
t33 supported the project partners and local stakeholders with designing business models for healthcare and local transport energy efficiency interventions. These involved blending grant and loan support from public resources with private investment, through energy performance contracting. 
t33 also supported the lead partner with designing the selection of the fund manager in charge of the financial instrument supporting energy efficiency interventions.
