Impact assessment of the Interreg Alpine Space Programme 2014-2020

Alpine Space Programme

  • Start Date: May 2019

  • Status: In Progress

The impact assessment of the Interreg ‘Alpine Space 2014-2020’ focuses on the evaluation of the impact generated by the Programme in the cooperation area.
The three key evaluation objectives are to:

  • identify and illustrate the main benefits brought by the Alpine Space Programme. Through the analysis of the main programme’s documents and data from the monitoring system , the evaluators draft a preliminary list of categories of expected benefits for each specific objective;

  • gain insights into the relations with the EU Strategy for the Alpine Region (EUSALP);

  • gather inputs and draws lessons learned for the post-2020 programming period and future projects elaboration. In other words, the evaluation provides the programme’s stakeholders with a sort of pre-feasibility assessment of what makes a good programme and a good project in the Alpine Space area.

The main methodological tools that have been used are: desk review, interviews, case studies, focus groups and surveys.
The activies are performed in consortium with Spatial Foresight GmbH.
The final report of the impact evaluation phase 1 is available here.
