The evaluation of the interventions funded by the Development and Cohesion Fund for infrastructures, environment and culture of Umbria Region focuses on the adequacy of the interventions, their effectiveness and preliminary impacts. Additionally, the evaluation also focuses on the procedural aspects, the management and organisations of the interventions and, lastly, the added value compared with the other regional resources.
The evaluation allows to gain knowledges and lessons learned for the future programming period, while formulates ex post assessment of the 2000-2006 and 2007-2013 programming periods.
Indeed, the evaluation specifically focuses on assessment of the interventions funded by the Development and Cohesion Fund in the 2000 – 2006 programming period; the interventions funded by the same fund in the 2007-2013 and the actions implemented under the of Development and Cohesion Fund Regional Programme on the areas related to infrastructures, environment and culture. 
Ex post cost benefit analysis, theory-based evaluation and case studies are the main methodologies used by the evaluators.
