The overarching objective of this study is to fully exploit the potential of cross-border public services (CPS).

Based on previous work done by the European Commission, the European Parliament, the European Committee of the Regions and ESPON, this study contributes to a better understanding of CPS, their availability, obstacles and potential solutions.

Based on this overall objective, the study has three specific objectives:
(1) to consolidate the conceptual methodological framework used so far for CPS identification and documentation;
(2) to design a methodology and process allowing for future data input, validation and monitoring of the inventory;
(3) to produce a policy analysis and recommendations on cross-border obstacles and future CPS deployment.
