Study: 'Measuring the impact of changing regulatory requirements to administrative cost and burden of managing EU Structural Funds'

European Commission - DG Regional Policy

  • Start Date: November 2010

  • Status: Complete

The study assesses the extent to which potential modifications to the current implementation rules would affect the costs of administration and  the administrative burden of the beneficiaries of Structural Funds post-2013. Due to shared management of Cohesion policy, the analysis is based on information gathered at the level of EU authorities, as well as of national and regional implementation bodies in ten Member States. Within the framework of the EC Action Programme for reducing administrative burden on businesses, the service also includes an estimate of the impact of the new regulations on the beneficiaries. Cost and benefits of implementing innovative ICT solutions for the management of Structural Funds are also analysed.

The report of the study is available here.
